I insist

This short film emerged from a collaboration with dance artist Valencia James, created in response to the racist and fear-driven propaganda targeting refugees and people of colour by the current Hungarian government. The project was both a form of resistance and an artistic statement.

From initial storyboarding sessions to on-location filming, Valencia brought her expertise in movement and embodiment. At the same time, I contributed my perspective as a filmmaker, focusing on visual storytelling, framing, and camera work.

Despite working with a minimal budget—self-filming on a mobile phone with basic lighting—the result demonstrates how a strong concept and creative synergy can transcend technical limitations. The process reaffirmed that impactful storytelling doesn’t require expensive equipment—just vision, intention, and collaboration.
